As a Total Eclipse Trainer, I have helped one of my clients gain the knowledge and skills of using the Total Eclipse Software efficiently.  This client is now working with stenographers who work as court reporters.  These stenographers use Total Eclipse Software.  Scoping services are the following:  Proofreading and transcription services.  The Scopist edits the transcript using specialized software, such as Total Eclipse Software.  You can view her testimonial here:

What’s your life coaching philosophy? What do you consider a successful coaching session?
Apr 20, 2:10AM EDT0

Thank you for this question.  What is my coaching philosophy?

My intention is to work as a Christian Life Coach.  My coaching philosophy at this point is based on my training and coaching with Biblical principles in mind, helping my clients to accomplish their goals with their Divine Purpose.

A successful coaching session at this stage of my coaching practice is to help the client set up a strategy to accomplish their goals that the client has created with my guidance as a coach.

Based on your life coaching skills what do you think is the biggest mistake people make when trying to improve the quality of their life?
Apr 19, 8:10AM EDT0

Shakeel,

I am new at this!

But so far, not being aware of the opportunities or methods available to help them improve the quality of their life.

How would you describe your life philosophy or your sense of spirituality? I’m sorry to keep asking you such big questions.
Apr 16, 3:10AM EDT0

This is a good question!

My life philosophy or sense of spirituality.....

Well, I believe that my life purpose is tied to my life philosophy, which is to learn about the love of God, to open the eyes of those who are not able to see God's love and help them live a life with hope, faith, and love.  Then beyond that, to learn to exploit the gifts and talents that define a person's divine purpose.

How was your experience of studying Christian life lessons? What was your learning process like?
Apr 14, 1:45PM EDT0

I am now at the point where I have been teaching Sunday School Bible lessons for more than 20 years.  So I have sat passively in a Bible class, sat as a student at Bible College, and now study the Bible as a teacher.  So I have experienced three ways of learning.  The best learning process for me is when I have material to read, a teacher that instructs and there is a discussion where the class members participate freely.  When creating a book reporter, research paper or powerpoint, I learn the best.  It helps me to think about the principle of the lesson and how to apply it in life.  When I am not challenged in a class, I do tend to get bored and not learn as much as when I am challenged to expand on the topic presented.

What do you think is the root of the serious problems the world is facing today? How can people take help of divinity to bring calm in their lives?
Apr 14, 8:28AM EDT0

I must preface by saying that I am not an expert when it comes to the problems of the world.  I can share my testimony that when I am calm in the midst of my problems and frustrations is when I realize that God is with me, that he has a plan for my life, and that even in the midst of the present problem, I am supported and can respond in the appropriate way.  I have learned that I can be still, know that God is with me and will lead me in how I shall respond.  Hope, faith, and love help calm me, also.

How does life coaching skills help in ministry, business, family & everyday life?
Apr 13, 11:28PM EDT0

Coaching skills have allowed me to learn how to interact with my clients more efficiently.  I have seen an improvement in my listening skills, and I am more aware of when I am asking questions as a Sunday School teacher - I am aware of the coaching that happens more often than I realized before.

What do you do when you were transcribing another person's notes and you are unable to read those notes?
Apr 13, 11:55AM EDT0

When it comes to stenography, I haven't had the experience of not being able to read their notes because I understand how to read steno notes.  There is a basic foundation for steno notes.  If I do come across something I can't read, I would put a caret (^) and let the person figure it out.  With our technology, there is backup audio which helps when we are not able to read notes.

What would you like to say to wake people up to their own power, their own sense of control over their lives?
Apr 13, 6:28AM EDT0

I would say what do you love to do and what is your passion?  I would encourage them to enhance their knowledge in what they love and put it into practice.  Once they see what they can achieve, they will begin to know their power and sense of control when they make decisions and see them become a reality.

How do you personally stay balanced and centred? What tools do you use or recommend?
Apr 13, 3:46AM EDT0

I must confess, I am not always balanced because sometimes I work too much and then don't get enough sleep.  I know what works for me to get balance.  I use spiritual exercises, such as prayer, worship, a meditation on the Word of God,  proper nutrition, and exercise.  Then I try to put work in proper perspective and get enough rest.  Balance is gained for me by not only these things.  I  also find balance in life when I exercise my faith, hope, forgiveness, and love with my family, friends, and community.

What are your future ambitions in this area? Where do you see yourself in five years?
Apr 11, 12:02AM EDT0

I plan to continue to work as a professional court reporter and use Life Coaching skills with creating courses for personal, spiritual and business development.  I will also continue to educate myself as a coach and teacher.

How have you been promoting and marketing "Fresh Start for a Lifetime"?
Apr 10, 2:06PM EDT0

Website, Facebook and Periscope.

I plan to expand that to newspapers and magazines.

I have used Google Ad and Facebook boosts.

Do you plan on expanding your acts as a life coach?
Apr 10, 12:11PM EDT0

Hi,

I am at the beginning of my coaching business.  I have a teaching style and like to attach courses to help people learn and get more out of the time they spend with me as a Life Coach.  My focus is transformation and strategy setting.

Apr 11, 2:08PM EDT0
Have you always been religious or is religion something that came into your life later?

How has Periscope been as a teaching platform so far?
Apr 9, 8:35PM EDT0

Thank you for your question.

So far, Periscope has helped me to find my voice!

It's nice when people participate and ask questions to challenge you or because they are seeking answers.

Now, Periscope has a new feature where people can observe first and then decide to come into the platform/room.  In other words, the app allows an individual to view from outside and listen.  Then they can decide whether to enter the platform or choose another video to watch.  I have seen 3 people come into the room but then you can have 12 or more who viewed from the outside.  The attention span of people is not that long.  So teaching for long periods of time, I would discourage.  10 to 15 minutes seems to work.

My next learning curve will be to us OBS, so that I can share my screen on Periscope.  I like to create Powerpoints that are used in my teaching.  When I have shown the Powerpoint, the number of viewers go up.

Getting people to sign up for courses through Periscope has been a challenge.

What advice do you have for new entrepreneurs who are just starting out?
Apr 9, 12:50PM EDT0

If they know what they want to do, I would suggest they speak to someone who is actually providing that service or work and obtain information about how they started and get their advice.

If a new entrepreneur has no experience or business coach to help them, I would suggest they contact their local small business association that can help them or research online how to start a business.  There are books they can read.

If they are willing to go to business school, I would suggest they go to school for whatever business niche they want to enter into.

Do you think that people started practicing religion and faith through the customs too much, rather forgetting that faith is something within themselves?
Apr 8, 9:36AM EDT0

Thank you for this question.

Many people have not taken the step to learn about faith.  The Bible teaches us about faith.  Faith is something that is experienced and learned.

I see religion as an attempt to organize people, to come together and fellowship and help others who are in need.  Through time, the concept of religion has grown and means different things to different people.  Religion can be traditions passed from generation to generation.  James gave a definition of religion:   James 1:27 (KJV) "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."

<<>>Let's look at another group of scriptures.  These scriptures point to the fact that faith is a powerful thing.  When faith is used correctly, you grow and your understanding grows to the point you don't need a schoolmaster.  Faith is an individual thing, and we all have a measure of faith that can grow with experience and knowledge.  Faith allows an individual to conquer their fears when they trust in God.  Faith allows an individual to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.  Faith allows an individual to accept the scriptures in the Bible and apply them to their life.  Faith is powerful!  Jesus told us that faith of the size of a mustard seed can move mountains!  (Matthew 17:20. KJV.)  And faith can be misused; that's why we need to have faith in what is true and be careful what we meditate upon and what we believe and careful of who we follow.

Philippians 4:8 (KJV) "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

Galatians 3:25 "But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster."

Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Rommans 12:3 (KJV) "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith."

Ephesians 4:13 (KJV) "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:"

Religion and faith is a big topic.  I haven't even scratched the surface of what I could have talked about here.  It takes a lifetime to learn and understand faith and how to apply faith.

What is the general demand for the stenographers these days, considering the fact that technologies have taken over?
Apr 7, 5:11PM EDT0

This is a great question.  You would think that technology will completely take over the file of stenography, but that is not true.  Today we have a shortage in the USA for stenographers.  It takes time to learn stenography and gain the foundation speed necessary to work in some states.  Language has a structure, grammar rules, homonyms, synonyms, names of companies, scientific terminology, etc., that has to be corrected.

The artificial intelligence that works in the software has to always be corrected and updated continually.  I have been using software for over 20 years now and I always have to make corrections and continue to update the dictionary and phonetics table, so that the translation can continue to improve.

In Massachusetts, the Superior Court replaced the civil courts with digital equipment and didn't replace the court reporters as they retired.  They send out the digital recordings out to transcribers who have to get on contract with the state.  The criminal courts continue to have officials.  Attorneys who want a court reporter in court has to hire a reporter to come into the courtroom.

I cannot speak on what is happening in other countries when it comes to stenography.  So if you want to learn stenography, join my Facebook group - Stenography Training with Teri

In the Facebook group, I share my experience and show how I edit.  There are videos where you can view.  There is a fee associated with learning stenography.  Stenography is a skill that allows you to work in court as a court reporter or work with stenographers (court reporters) as a scopist.  The scopist would work on the transcript and make the corrections needed.  The court reporter pays the scopist a per page rate.  Working as a scopist is great for those who want to work from home.

I hope this answers your question.
